Electricity gives no second chances — 50 milliamps across the chest can stop your heart, and a standard circuit carries 300 times that. Most electrocutions on job sites involve equipment everyone assumed was safe.
Test before you touch, every time, with a tester you just verified on a known live source. De-energized isn't proven until it's tested.
Ground-fault circuit interrupters cut power in 1/40 of a second. Required for all receptacles on construction sites. No GFCI, no plug-in.
Frayed insulation, missing ground pins, tape repairs = out of service. Extension cords are for temporary use — not permanent wiring, not through doorways or water.
10 ft minimum from overhead power lines (more for higher voltage). Ladders, cranes, and scaffold poles have all become electrodes. Look up before you lift.
