Chemical Safety & GHS Labels — poster
You have the right to know what chemicals you work with — and employers are required to tell you. The GHS system puts the critical info on every label and SDS in the same place, every time. Reading it takes 30 seconds.
Flame = flammable. Skull = acutely toxic. Health hazard silhouette = cancer/organ damage. Corrosion = eats skin and metal. Exclamation = irritant. Nine symbols, one glance.
“DANGER” = severe hazard. “WARNING” = less severe. Both mean read the rest before opening the container.
Section 4: first aid. Section 8: what PPE. Every chemical on site has an SDS and you're entitled to see it — know where the binder or app is BEFORE you need it bleeding or splashed.
Every container gets a label, including transfer bottles and spray cans you filled yourself. Unlabeled liquid = don't touch, report it. And never mix chemicals — bleach plus ammonia makes toxic gas.
